Mute, Demon-Possessed Man- Performance of Jesus
One of the most significant causes to study this miracle is that Jesus operated beyond the reason of earthly considerations, Jesus could act outside the box (Matthew 11:27). Another based on the thoughts of the rabbis of the day, if the person was mute (dumb), they couldn't say the name of the demon. The popular opinion of the day was if there was no way to discover the demon's name, then the exorcism was impossible; until Jesus showed them otherwise (Matthew 9:33).
Jesus cast out the demon, and the mute spoke, the people marveled at this act of God, but the Pharisees doubted. Matthew 9:33-35, But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils. And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. In this and most accounts of the miracles of Jesus, the name of the person is not mentioned because it is not essential. What is important is the Act of Faith demonstrated by Jesus. Jesus acts not for His behalf but the Glorification of the Kingdom of God Almighty, who sponsors and empowers the acts of Jesus. When we adopt this kenosis (Philippians 2:7), then we as the Children of God will step up as sons of God and glorify Him.
As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
The LORD My Light, Jehovah Ori (Psalm 27:1), we thank You for our demonstration of purpose through Jesus Christ. We praise You because You show us how to Glorify You with our Faith and Works. We decree and declare blessings upon those who walk in the Light of Your Glory with exceeding Joy, so that; the Works of Your Faith Glorify You in heaven as well as on earth. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
